ジェレミー・ブレット（シャーロック・ホームズ）のインタビューを聞こう！
シャーロック・ホームズは色々な人に演じられてきましたがジェレミー・ブレットがその真髄であるという評価が高い
ようです。 私も、一番好きです。（というか、このシリーズ
モリアティ教授・ワトソンなど、誰もが適役です）
ネットで、ジェレミー氏のインタビューを見つけました。
18分という適度な時間なので、英語学習には最適かなと
思います。少なくとも、この記事のタイトルに反応してくれ
た人にとってはそうだと思います。

星占いを楽しみながら英語を覚えよう！
やっぱり自分のことが気になるのか、老若男女を問わず
星占いは人気がありますよね。
星占い：HoRoscope (HoLoscopeと、RとLを間違えると
別の意味になるので注意してくださいね。）
星座：これ、意外に辞書に載ってないんですよね。
幾つか言い方があるみたいですが、私が良く見かける
のは、Zodiac sign です。若い子が自己紹介で
使ってますし、ヤフーkidsでもこの単語を使って
いるので、覚えておいたほうがいいと思います。

禅を英語で聞いてみる。心が落ち着き、英語も倍吸収できるかも？？
私は無宗教ですが、禅の話は結構好きで、日本語の本
は結構読んだことがあります。

さっき読んだジョークですが、途中までは、そんな難しい単語は出て
きません。
だけど、最後の最後の落ちにあたる単語が、普通の日本人なら知らない
英単語です。（もちろん、該当する日本語訳は誰でも知ってるはずです）
でも、”落ち”の部分なので、十分推測可能。
じゃあ、最後の単語が分かるかどうか、挑戦してみてください！

語学勉強法を多言語修得者に学ぶ
多言語を学んできた人のページを紹介します。
どうやって勉強してきたかとか、言語ごとの特徴などが書かれています。
言葉は勉強してもきりが無いので、定期的に不安感や劣等感をいだき

笑える恐怖のE-Mail
私は飽きっぽいので、英語を勉強するときは、短めの文で面白い物を
好んで読みます。落ちがあると分かっていると、途中で止めようかなと
思っても、笑わないで止めるのも悔しいしと、続ける事ができるから
です。

幸せになる方法
ジョーク写真や、短いショートエッセイなどがたくさんあるサイトを
紹介します。
下の「How to be happy」はジョークではありませんが
良い事が書いてあるので紹介しておきます。
昔、外国の人が日本の「英語の参考書を採点した本」を読んだ事があります。
ネイティブがチェックしているので、面白いなと思いながら立ち読み
していたのですが、その中で、自分では気がつかなかった角度から批判
しているコメントを見つけて、刺激を受けました。
皆さんご存知だと思いますが、「起きてから寝るまで○○」という本が
あります。
「あー、また遅刻しちゃった」「ちきしょう。またコピーがつまった」
「また上司に怒られた」みたいな表現がたくさん掲載されているので
英語を勉強するには結構便利だなーと思っていました。
しかし
評価はいまいち。
なぜかな？と、理由のコメントをみると・・・（うる覚えのため正確では
ないです）
「本の構成は良いとしても、載っているセリフにネガティブなものが
多すぎる。これでは気が滅入る（orこんな英語聞きたくない）。」
うーん。英語それ自体の事しか考えておらず、内容のことまで頭になかった
ので、殴られたような衝撃を受けました。
確かに、愚痴を英語で言ってもしょうがない。というか、好かれる為には
話せないほうが幸せ。
せっかく、英語を覚えるなら、ポジティブなものを覚えて、相手を元気づける
方がよっぽど良い。
ということで、次の文を紹介することとなりました。（前置きがながくて

More than 100 years ago, author Robert Louis Stevenson offered the following tips for maintaining a positive attitude. They still apply today.

前向きな態度を維持するためのアドバイスをしました。今日でも十分に
通じるものです。
1.Make up your mind to be happy. Learn to find pleasure in simple things. （幸せになる決心をしなさい。些細な事の中にも楽しみを

2.Make the best of your circumstances. No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intermingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears. （あなたの置かれた環境をできるだけ活かしなさい。全てを所有している人は誰もいませんが、誰でも、人生の喜びと悲しみを併せ持っています。要は、悲しみより楽しみに重点を置くようにすることです。）
3.Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't think that somehow you should be protected from misfortune that befalls other people. （あまり真面目に考えないことです。と同時に、他人に降りかかった災難から、理由もなく、自分は守られているとも考えないことです。）
4.You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you.（全員を喜ばせるなんてできません。批判は真に受けないことです。）
5.Don't let your neighbor set your standards. Be yourself.（周りの人に左右されてはいけません。自分でいましょう。）
6.Do the things you enjoy doing but stay out of debt.（やりたいことをやるようにしましょう。しかし、借金はいけません。）
7.Never borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones.（取り越し苦労は良くありません。そういった妄想は、現実の事よりも耐え難いのです。）
8.Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy, enmity, grudges. Avoid people who make you unhappy. （憎しみの感情は精神を汚します。嫉妬、敵意 怨恨を心に抱かないことです。一緒にいて嫌な人からは離れましょう。）
9.Have many interests. If you can't travel, read about new places.（好奇心旺盛になりましょう。旅行できないなら、その場所のことを本で読みましょう。）
